GUEST INFO: History
Walnut Ridge History
In 1992, 32 determined individuals started Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. The church located on “the little hill in Mansfield, Texas.” While today, that church on the hill is surrounded by beautiful homes, in 1992, that church was surrounded by the empty Texas prairie.
Started by two mission-minded churches, South Oaks and Tate Springs, Walnut Ridge has in its DNA a deep love for missions. We have sponsored church plants, mission trips to Waco, Mexico, Reno and points all over Texas, the United States and around the world.
Effectively practicing the five principles of the New Testament church (worship, evangelism, ministry, discipleship and fellowship) has caused our community of faith to grow beyond the wildest imaginations of our founding members. In 2007 our growth expanded outside the capacity of our "little church on the hill" and our church body relocated to our new, larger facility.

Our new campus is located at 1201 State Highway 360 (near Broad Street) in Mansfield. Those original 32 members, plus the hundreds and thousands who came after them left an amazing legacy of faith to us today. Now it’s our turn to step out on faith and prepare for the next generation of North Texans to hear the Gospel as a part of the ministry of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.
We invite you to join us for one of our Sunday morning services. Like the original 32 members, you are being handed the chance to influence the lives of many, many people, both locally and around the world. Will you join with God’s vision to reach the nations?
