April 30, 2017
Community Outreach 2017 (CO2017) is an effort of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church (WRBC) to help address two needs in our community; first, to help struggling property owners make necessary yard maintenance and home repairs and secondly to “do our part” to help beautify our communities streets, parks, and vacant lots by removing debris and unauthorized dumping. By mobilizing community and church volunteers, we aim to strengthen, grow and revitalize our community one property and one family at a time.
Lending a Helping Hand
Many families with health issues or fixed incomes have no choice but to skip necessary yard maintenance and home repairs just to make ends meet. Likewise, city governments are strapped to meet all the needs of their constituents. With a thousand volunteers, CO2017 will help many of these families and help reduce the burden on our city staff. No experience is required, just the desire to help someone during their time of need. An amazing amount of work can and will be accomplished when we work together.
